Late on Friday, Apple (finally) posted Naked touch 1.0.4, which fixes just about all of the memory related bugs.
Specifically, the jump from 1.0 to 1.0.4:
- Fixes a serious memory leak that would happen when uploading in certain situations.
- Fixes a serious memory leak that would happen during most editing operations.
- Maximum dimension for hi-res exports reduced from 1000 to 900, reducing memory footprint by 20%.
- Uploads no longer silently fail when an upload is attempted in Airplane mode.
- Displays the number of photos in an album on the home screen.
- Clears up memory more aggressively in low-memory situations.
- Fixes several smaller leaks.
- Features a few small performance fixes.
- Hides the “Take Photo” option for iPod touch users.
Naked touch is available in the App Store for $9.99.

This app looks fantastic, but before I buy, I need MobileMe support, i.e. the ability to upload single/multiple photos/albums to my MobileMe Gallery. Is this something you are planning to introduce? If not, would you consider it?
Thanks!

MobileMe isn’t designed to work well with third-party software, and unlike, say, Flickr, has no currently announced public API.
Apple will probably change this in the future, but until they do, MobileMe support isn’t something that I can deliver.
Sorry!

Brandon,
What’s going on with Naked Touch? I bought the app a month ago but now I can’t update it in App Store. I get the message “Your request could not be completed. The item you’ve requested is not currently available in the Swedish store.”. It was available a month ago…

It’s working in the Swedish store now. Guess it was a problem with the store.

Hi Brandon
I am considering buying Naked Touch rather than Photogene… what is the resolution of the edited images saved in NT… as the maximum resolution mention above and on the app store of only 900 seems considerably less than the native resolution of mages the camera is able to deal with… altho my knowledge and understanding of the resolutions etc is probably greatly flawed
Also… what are some of the planned additions/updates to NT… and when are they going to be released ??
finally any chance of a special in the app store
cheers from Down Under Trevor

not sure if it is me or what… thought I had successfully left a query here last night but it is gone today…
what I wanted to know is what are some of the things that are planned for Naked Touch and when are they expected to be rolled out ?
what are the full list of functions that NT does… not clear from the app store listing if what is given there is the FULL list or a partial list ?
I would love to be able to get NT, but with Photogene and others out there at 1/2 to 1/4 of the cost, I would like to know of it’s current and planned features list before I purchase NT…
and is there any chance of a special pricing in the app store… as our Aussie $ is real crappy at the moment
cheers from Oz Trevor (hopefully this posting will work and it will remain up)

as soon as I hit post it now shows BOTH of my posts… delete one of them if you like Brandon… must be my really crappy work connection
cheers Trevor

is there anyone reading or updating this site… as the current version of NT on last checking is at v1.0.7 and the whole Naked site only refers to v1.0.4
it would be good if prospective buyers of NT… or NL for that matter… would be able to contact the developer to be able to get answers to queries they may have… especially when on the Australian iTunes store there are no reviews to be able to judge the app… and when the app is in the order to twice to three times the price of any of the other photo apps in the store is would be great to be able to get a feel for what one is getting that is over-and-above the other players i the market…
in my case… I am considering buying NT (and even NL at some point) and will be reviewing it for http://www.iphoneography.com/ … unless Glyn gets to get a copy of it before I do

Does NT have, or is it going to have at some point, histogram manipulation for those thing that Photoshop and most desktop image apps use histograms for ??

Hello. Dou you plan to support the full resolution of the iPhone 3GS ?
900 px is very small !
August 24th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Hi
great update… but what is with the much reduced image resolution… saved an image to my iphone and it is MUCH smaller than the original… something like 600 x 900 which is insanely small… the iPhone 3G is a small enough resolution camera in the first place without it saving to this resolution !!
PLEASE… please… update it to full resolution…. and zooming would be VERY good to have
cheers from Oz Trevor

hi, I bought Naked Touch and have a question, but I can’t seem to find any info on your site how to contact you. Hope you read this!!!

Boy I really wish the max dimension thing were a configurable option, and not just hard coded. I got Naked Light so I could do edits on the fly when I needed to, but if I am going to loose even more resolution in order to do those edits, then I am loosing an incentive to use the app at all.
This is a shame because I love the app.
